Ai cameras have joined Wolverhampton councils war only fly tipping. New 360 degree vision cameras which can recognise when someone is fly tipping.
This means investigations can start before a member of the public even reports and incident of fly tipping. The new cameras can be mounted to any surface and they will be used along side cctv in fly tipping hot spots across Wolverhampton.
The new technology is being financed by a £49,119 grant from the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
Wolverhampton city council is on of 26 authorises being given part of a £1 million pound grant from DEFRA to combat the issue of fly tipping across the country. This comes as Wolverhampton is also making use of a new policy where people are able to provided reports of fly tippers and fly tipping incidents recive a £100 enjoy Wolverhampton gift card.
