CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES POUR IN, AS COUNCILLOR LINDA LEACH GETS INSTALLED AS THE MAYOR OF WOLVERHAMPTON.

A series of congratulatory messages and well wishes were received by the newly elected mayor of the city of Wolverhampton, Linda Leach, as she was formally installed on Wednesday, the 15th of May. Linda made history as the 12th woman and the 165th person to hold this office. The event was held in the Wolverhampton city council, with the support of her husband, Consort Pete Mason, colleagues, women and other dignitaries in attendance.
As the Member of parliament for Bilston North, Linda has always spent her time meeting with locals, dealing with caseworks, helping in setting up initiatives that will benefit residents in finding solution to unemployment, mental health issues, transport, homelessness, food banks, education, raising awareness of and money for Beacon centre for the blind, Wolverhampton Samaritans and age UK Wolverhampton throughout 2024-2025, and many more.
In her speech to the public, she acknowledged and thanked the public for the privilege of being voted as the Mayor, and affirmed that, she will establish a very friendly relationship between herself and the locals. she also added, 'this office is about being an ambassador for the city and celebrating all that is good about Wolverhampton. I am a local girl and lived here all my life, I know what this city is all about and I am so proud to become a Mayor'.
The event ended with people motivated and inspired by Linda Leach's success, and women dreaming of having more females representing in high offices. Food and drinks were shared, while attendees enjoyed and conversed among themselves.
